Do you follow a healthy diet? Do you Exercise? What are the steps you have taken to make yourself feel stronger and healthier? In this Digital Age we all are becoming slaves of technology and have complicated our lives to an extent that we are facing a multitude of health issues , stress, anxiety, depression, pre mature aging, diseases etc... It's important that we all start following a healthy lifestyle. Being a foodie, i love eating a variety of different delicious cuisine's from different locations and it get's really difficult for me to keep a track on health.

Home cooked food is the best food, as people who cook for us at home are consciously more aware and they take special care of your diet, mostly our Indian Mom's , but we also can't deny the fact that the use of oil in our cooking is alot, much more than what is actually required. So what if we get our basics right? what if our cooking oil is healthy? Sounds great right.

Recently i got to learn about Riso - 100% Pure Ricebran Oil which is filled with maximum possible nutrients. The team of this brand was too kind to have the transparency for the consumers and they shared some really interesting facts with me about this product. Did you the know? The World Health Organisation and the American Heart Association recommend oils rich in SAFA: MUFA: PUFA (fatty acids) with an ideal proportion of 1:1.5:1. and Riso comes closest to this proportion to help maintain cholesterol levels with Goodness of Oryzanol Vitamins A, D, E & Omega. This oil has a very high smoking point (approx. 250 deg C) which makes it ideal for deep and shallow frying. Making it perfect for Indian Cooking. So to actually test this product i decided to cook a deep fried starter.

*About Riso:
Riso Rice bran oil has benefits that are quintessential to your wellbeing, and we believe that Riso is a truly wholesome oil due to its properties & Usages:

1. Refined Physically, not chemically: Riso is a 100% physically refined rice bran oil. Unlike chemically refined oils that lose 85-95% of their natural nutrients, physically refined oils retain most of their nutrients which helps to make the oil wholesome.

2. Natural Nutrients: Being physically refined, Riso is rich in natural nutrients. Unique to rice bran oil is an anti-oxidant called Oryzanol long with another natural Anti-oxidant, Vit E. Besides this Riso contains natural Omega 3 & 6 and is also fortified with Vit A & D.

3. High Smoke point: Smoke point is that temperature beyond which oil starts to burn & burnt things aren’t healthy or nutritious. Rice bran oil has a smoke point of above 180 degree celcius, which is higher than most of the cooking oils. This high smoke point of Riso ensures that all the rich natural nutrients & anti-oxidants aren’t burnt. A high smoke point also means that less oil is absorbed while cooking making it less oily.

4. Balanced fat profile: WHO & AHA (American Heart Association) recommend using an oil which has a fat profile of SFA:MUFA:PUFA in the ratio 1:1.5:1. A balanced fat profile in this ratio means that you get best of all these elements and also that you don’t need to change your oil regularly. Riso’s fat profile is extremely close to this making this one of its most ideal oil for cooking.

5. All Purpose Oil: Riso due to its neutral taste & odour & its high smoke point can be used in all types of dishes from traditional to modern. It can also be used for regular cooking, deep frying, sautéing, baking and also raw as a salad dressing.
